Summary: Brilliant and ambitious, prosecutor Rick Corinth is one of Manhattan's top legal minds, the heir-apparent to the New York County District Attorney's seat. When assigned to a case involving a series of sadistic rapes, Corinth is shocked that he knows almost all the women. The case takes an unexpected - and unbelievable- turn: the rape victims, all prominent women at the pinnacles of their careers, identify him as their attacker. It's a nasty setup to be sure, a plot to bring his rising star crashing down - or is it? After all, Corinth has a history of blackouts and "lost time." Could he be capable of committing such heinous crimes and not even know it? As the physical evidence against him piles up, Corinth goes on the run, desperate to unmask the real perpetrator before the police catch up to him. But will his search ferret out a brutal sadist?
